What I do with my spare time...

29 March 2009
I'm on the computer a lot these days - mostly for work but also for play. When 9 or 10 o'clock rolls around, Eric and I typically just like to relax, maybe watch a little TV...And, for me, I scrapbook. I try to create a 2-page digital scrapbook layout every night. At this rate, I might get all caught up by 2020! Not really. It actually goes really quickly, and I love it!! A bazillion times better than old-school scrapbooking. And there are several high-quality publishers out there who can produce a nice sleek finished product (no more of those big bulky albums).

Note: I use Simply Yin for most of my LO templates. She's amazing!

Cass,
I love that look! Now I need another tutorial :) I've really lost interesting in Scrapbooking - it's so time-consuming and I'm ALWAYS so behind that I find it more stressful than anything else. Do you think it's more economical as well? I have So much stuff!

Hey Amy, digital scrapbooking is much easier and much more affordable. There are TONS of freebies out there. Plus, you get to use and reuse everything (papers, elements, templates, etc.) And you've already got your digital photos right there on your computer so it's a piece of cake! Let me know if you're really interested, and I'll send you an email with more tips and tricks to "digiscrapping".

Hi Cassandra, I LOVED your layouts!! WOW! Your minimalistic and elegant style is so striking and perfect for your photos. Is Saipan a tropical island? It looks beautiful. I hope you don't mind I have to snag some of your layouts for showing off on my blog! Love the ones that are not from my templates too, gave me some ideas :) Thanks for taking time to link me here!

Yin, thanks for the kind words! I don't mind at all if you snag some of the LOs for your site...I would be flattered.

I still can't get over how good your pages are. They look like professional pages out of a magazine.

As for Saipan, yes, it's our quirky little tropical island, and it makes for some amazing photo ops! Where do you live?

Oh yeah, today at the Y two guys were having a conversation next to me and I heard one of them say they were going to Saipan next month. My ears perked up and I was like, "hey, my sister lives there!" Its not every day that you meet someone going to Saipan...or someone who knows where it is!

Really?? That is strange. Do you know why they're coming to Saipan?

Cass, I'll get into digital scrapbooking eventually, but I feel like I need to use up all of my old crap first. I did invest $700 two summers ago... so, yes, I'll be coming to you for tips sometime soon. Probably for the Brooklyn pics and in future, then I can use up the old stuff on my childhood albums. !? Your pages look amazing!
